In 2009, we started to keep honey bees and still enjoy the challenges and benefits of this hobby. Honey may be the most popular product of beekeeping but the bee's ability to pollinate plants and produce beeswax is just as important. In 2011, we began utilizing beeswax and our honey to make handcrafted soaps and lip balms. After some of her own recipe testing, Susanna eventually came up with our own recipes for the products we make.
Silver Wings Honey is locally harvested in Portage County, Wisconsin, and simply strained to ensure it keeps all the beneficial qualities honey is known for. The many flavors of lip balms we produce are made with beeswax and high quality oils which result in an effective lip balm. We make our bath bombs with only a few ingredients including our honey and can be used to condition and aromatize your skin during baths. Our lotion bars can be used to enrich your skin and come in a push tube style applicator. High quality oils such as Coconut Oil, Olive Oil, Organic Palm Oil, Sunflower Oil and Rice Bran Oil create a soap with great conditioning and cleansing properties.
All of our products are made and packaged by us in between the daily tasks of tending to our four children. We strive to make effective, attractive, and affordable products that can benefit you. We offer personalized labeling so our products can be used for party favors, personalized gifts, promotional gifts, and business/complimentary gifts. Honeybees are quite beneficial to our life and we hope our products reflect the benefits of their tireless nature. We owe special thanks to those that have helped us along the way including our parents, fellow beekeepers and soapmakers, and of course those silver winged bees!
